Introduction

Use this guide to charge a lithium battery using the 12VDC AC/DC lithium smart charger.

  1. Never charge the battery in a hermetically sealed container.
    • Never charge the battery in a hermetically sealed container.

    • Always charge the battery at temperatures between 0-45°C.

    • Recharge your battery only with the supplied AC/DC adapter.

  2. The battery can be charged with the sensor head on or off.
    • The battery can be charged with the sensor head on or off.

    • Plug the 12VDC AC/DC lithium smart charger into the monitor base and mains power.

    • Turn the charger on at the mains switch.

    • With the charger plugged in and monitor off, allow 3 hours for the battery to fully charge.

    • The battery can be charged when the monitor is on but it will charge more slowly.

  3. Keep an eye on the smart charger LED status to know when the battery is fully charged. Red LED = Battery is charging OR battery is fully charged and monitor is on.
    • Keep an eye on the smart charger LED status to know when the battery is fully charged.

    • Red LED = Battery is charging OR battery is fully charged and monitor is on.

    • Green LED = Battery is fully charged and monitor is off.

    • A fully charged battery runs for about 8 hours depending on the sensor head being used.

    • The battery indicator doesn't represent the remaining battery life.

    • If you have a nickel battery, you can tell it's charging when the battery icon on the monitor's display flashes.

If I click fullscreen at the top there is a blank introduction and there is no way to exit the current section without using the back button (eg. completing the guide can you press done and be returned to the menu?)

I have only had the Series 500 for a few weeks, but the battery is not charging. The light is green on the charger, but when I try to turn on the unit there are a couple of black lines that flash on the screen and it goes dark.
